On October 2, 2023, I lost my job in a situation that felt surreal and deeply personal. A friend—someone I’d worked closely with—had to make the difficult call to let me go, just before the company itself eventually folded. Losing a job is challenging enough, but when it comes from a friend, the experience adds layers of emotion that aren’t easy to shake. This moment marked the beginning of a long, mentally exhausting chapter in my life.

During this chapter of my life, we've also experienced the loss of close family members and friends, which brought an emotional weight that’s hard to put into words. The job loss journey wasn’t just about grief over loved ones; it also led to the death of many friendships, revealing who stood by me and who faded away when things got tough. If there’s one thing I learned, it’s that trying times have a way of highlighting true friends and stripping away superficial connections.

With these experiences weighing heavily on me, I needed an outlet to bring together my passion for design and my desire to do something meaningful.
